I can no longer log onto my homepage unless it is in safe mode.

I have a number of windows come up one which says

The instruction at '0x000000' referenced memory at '0x000000' the memory could not be written. click ok to terminate, click cancel to debug.
Another I have is
This shutdown window was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM
C:WINDOWS/System32/Services.exe'
status code 1073741819
it then counts down from 59 and then my computer shutsdown

also I have the window saying
windows has closed Services and controller app
I have run Spybot, and ewindo and also done another of your scans recomended.

Before this happend I kept having amaena.com pop up window coming up every time I was online.

Please can someone help me with this

KLaura

just guessing here... restart your puter, when in windows the countdown will start, so go Start > run, and type
shutdown -a
Then control panel, folder options, view tab and select "show hidden files and folders"; uncheck "hide protected opsys files".
Right. now go into C:\windows\system32\drivers and see if you have a file sysbus32.sys - here i am guessing...
post back the answer.....

C:\.. or the root of the drive where windows is installed..

Done that and no I dont have sysbus32.sys.

Have managed though to log into my area without it shuting down this time not sure how but I keep getting amanea and drivercleaner come up every few minutes

it was a long shot. ok, go to this link, download the file into its own folder [ i suggest a folder in C: alongside program files]. Be in an administrator login, close everything, all applications etc and open the folder, dclick hijackthis.exe, close the explorer window and then click the "scan and save a logfile" button.
When it finishes a notepad with the log results will open; post it here.

http://216.180.233.162/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe

klaura, i just looked down the list and saw an earlier post by you - am examining that log now.

Do you recognise these three entries?

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = file://C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm

O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=file://C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{5B05B66B-D653-469F-A3A8-467C148C0BC2}: NameServer = 205.188.146.145

basically i am asking what is this file:- C:\APPS\IE\offline\uk.htm
and do you know this IP :- 205.188.146.145 -is it anything to do with your office network?

This is my home computer so its nothing to do with office network. I am on wireless at home. But I dont recognise any of the entries but then I wouldnt I'm a bit of a computer alien

Sorry for the delay, but sleeping must be done.
kaye, run HT again and then check those three entries i posted above and fix them.
I would like you to download CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ and put it in a new folder. You should aim to keep this one for general use. I set it using the install checkboxes to only open from the recycle bin. It's just a neater thing.
Run it by dclicking recycle bin icon and clicking on CCleaner.
[Investigate its options and settings... then perhaps keep it with altered settings for general cleanup work, to empty temp files, the recycle bin, clearing cookies, histories... you choose.]
Finally try this scan online:- http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan? Give them some details, and follow the scan buttons. If it finds anything then post the log here.
Btw, get Adaware SE Personal from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
- install it. Update it. Explore what settings you can change in it [via the cogwheel icon up top, if you are comfortable with that... you won't hurt anything]. Put an icon on your desktop for regular use. It's a very competent scan that you can run every 2 weeks or so, or whenever you suspect foul play.
Cheers.

Here the pandascan details
Thanks for helping me

hello kaye, this should not be difficult. Did you run CCleaner before you did the Panda scan? Because it would have cleaned your cookie folder...
Anyway, if you have since reset this then go to control panel, folder options, view tab and select "show hidden files and folders".
Navigate to C:\windows\ss3unstl.exe and delete this file.
Open CCleaner and click the cleaner [top] icon. With Windows tab selected, uncheck Internet Explorer, then check both Temp Inet Files and Cookies.
Uncheck Windows Explorer, uncheck System, then check Empty Recycle bin.
Uncheck Advanced. Press Run Cleaner and OK.
[that is a good way to leave Ccleaner for general, occasional cleaning..]
Now go to Issues icon and uncheck Registry Integrity, then check Applications and Application Paths.
Uncheck File Integrity. Press Scan for Issues and then Fix Issues if it finds any.
Did you already fix those 3 HT log entries i mentioned? You must.
Finally, for safety's sake, please go to control panel, folder options, view tab and recheck "hide protected opsys files".
You may like to make a new restore point also.
Fine, let us know how you get on, and if there are any further problems.

Done all that and so far so good, Thank you so much for your help

klaura

Cool, we're done then? Glad it worked out. Cheers!

I read your response -my problem is that I get a variety of pop ups saying the instruction at 0x00000008 referenced memory@0x00000008.(/e /11 etc.)the memory could not be written/read
any suggestions would be appreciated

flogabbin, you should do these things [in this order] so that someone can help you:
Get ATF Cleaner:
==Download this temp file cleaner from http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1 --click in the download window to run it, and when ATF Cleaner opens go Select all, and then Empty Selected.
Next click Firefox [if you have that browser..] at the top, Select All again, and Empty Selected again. Follow that procedure also if you have Opera.
Close ATF.
[If you wish, save ATF Cleaner to your desktop or a cleaning folder somewhere as it is a fairly useful tool for occasional use.]

Now run AVG - AS:
==GET AVG antispyware 7.5 here.. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
or here.. http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-spyware-free
-the link is almost at the bottom of the page , avgas 7.5.0.50. Install it and UPDATE it.
Start AVG a-s 7.5;
-under Scanner/ Settings please set Recommended actions to Quarantine, and run the scan.
-click Apply all actions and then save the log file. Post the log file.

Finally, HiJackThis:
==download hijackthis: http://216.180.233.162/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
-install it to a new folder alongside your program files and then rename the Hijackthis.exe to imabunny.exe.
-in that folder start HijackThis by dclicking the .exe; now close ALL other applications and any open windows including the explorer window containing HijackThis.
-click the Scan and Save a Logfile button. Post the log here.

Gerbil, thanx 4 answering.I downloaded ccleaner & everything is ok-I deleted all cookies etc.-Should I dl atribune too? if not I'm not sure of the hijack instructions.

In addistion to the 1st problem now I can't shut down-an empty Word doc appears & I can't get rid of it . It keeps coming back in a loop! I also get Microsoft error –send this report / don't send_help I feel like I'm in quick sand!!

Heya, floba... no , don't worry about ATF cleaner, ccleaner does a similar job for our purposes.
You did not quite get the hijackthis instructions right, the new folder and name change are important items; adding [1] may not do the job. Your log shows clean, and it may be because of the unchanged name... try again, please.
Skip pressing the info button - that's all it is, a bit of info to explain things for you.
Did you run AVG AS? ..it would be nice to see the log.
And the exact error code would be handy to have... in your first posting it does not seem quite right.
And finally, dl and run Combofix:
==Download this file to your desktop: http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
...or from here: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
- to run it dclick combofix.exe and follow the prompts to start it. When finished, it will produce a log, C:\Combofix.txt - post that log in your next reply.
A word of caution - do not touch your mouse/keyboard until the scan has completed. The scan will temporarily disable your desktop, and if interrupted may leave your desktop disabled. If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop.

So, please, we'd like to see an AVG log, combofix log, and finally make a new hijackthislog [with the .exe renamed!]
And the error code in full...

I really appreciate this-my technician hasn't showed up!
I ran avg anti spyware-is that avgas? If so
should I uninstall the hijack I have?& then reinstall it with the name-that part was a little confusing to me-In the meanwhile I'll dl & run combofix ok?

That's how I wanted hijackthis, floba, thanks. And it shows no errors. I think you have a problem with your OS. It may have been caused by a virus which got past your AV at the time, or some read/write error.
If you are getting comspec errors then either cmd.exe or the environment path handling is corrupted. I'm no way an expert but i don't think there should be any instructions in that part of your memory...
It would be nice to see a combofix log, but failing that I can only suggest you try this:
Panda Online Scan:
==Please do an online scan at panda:- http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan?
-select a link to the scan... free online virus scan...., enter a valid? email and follow through, choosing My Computer for a full system scan.
Post the log it produces here. If that shows no errors then I would try a system file repair using your installation CD - you go Start, Run, and type:
sfc /scannow -and OK.
And if no-one else comes up with ideas and you still get those errors then perhaps a windows Repair is called for, which is fairly pain-free cos it leaves all your applications and files untouched.
You could even try reinstalling Office. Just a hunch.

"then either cmd.exe or the environment path handling is corrupted" -- command shell was what i was trying to think of... told you I wasn't an expert..:)

thanx
I got a technician to come next week_I'll tell him that
Re
Flo

Good-oh, Flo. But try that panda online scan first -it is very good. Just run CCleaner before you do it to remove cookies and other net trash it will pick up.
If it finds viruses or malware feel free to post its log.
Cheers.

They were just spamming a link to their forum.
