I think there should be a user title in the social groups. For example the programming groups could have the title as their specialty, and the social groups could have .. something funny .. It would make the groups more interactive. As it stands the groups are pretty lacking in features other than the image on your profile page.
I think it could even fit in to the existing vbulleting user title framework as seen on:

Although you probably wouldn't want to allow users to select the user title from a social group to be their title when posting :)
