What a piece of junk! Ran extremely hot, the hinges broke, and now it died. This laptop took no abuse unlike my work IBM ThinkPad. I had dropped that thinkpad more times then I can recall and it still runs. The Dell was used only in the house, from a coffee table to our lap. The hinges broke thru the case, now the motherboard crapped out.
I read on line that some company repairs the motorboard that Dell claims isn't repairable. I have looked this motherboard over and over and don't see where the problem lies. If you are luck and don't bump it it may stay running
Has anyone fixed one before?
This unit will shut down if you tap it or apply slight pressure to the case.
...and I thought Gateway was bad.... my bad
Any thoughts or help is appreciated.
