Hello people,
I'm having a problem on a optiplex gx260
It has 2 hard drives, one has windows xp one has windows 7
Neither of them matter though because they can't be seen..
I boot up and after the Dell logo, it beeps and says that either one or both hard drives have not been recognized and asks me do I want to click f1 to continue or f2 to go into setup..
I can always click f12 or f2 during the dell logo startup..
in fact, I have tried to get to a prompt but I can't break into it..
I put a CD rom in, and right before the computer says, click any key to boot from CD.. my keyboard goes out ..
I can't click.. so I can't boot from the CD
I can't set the BIOS to boot from the USB.. because I can't break into the msdos to use any utilities to fix the MBR.. or replace it..
I've tried.. a winxp disc.. nothing, a Partition MAgic disc... nothing..
Winxp Recover disk and Windows 7 recover disk.. nothing can boot from anywhere! I can't even put another hdd with windows on it.. and get it to play.. bios doesn't find anything I put into it.. accept an old 4 gig hdd that was in it .. I want to replace that hdd with another one.. but I can't find one that it can find to boot..
Any ideas? How to fix a boot manager without being able to use a fdd or cd/dvd?
