Hi
I wanted to renew the tech issue of the eMachine A-socket AMD 2400+ T2482.
If you look at these on eBay alone, then do a search, you find they all suffer from the same issues, the ones that seemingly fail w/o warning...they boot, drive lights up but no video.... When I tested mine, the memory was removed and there were no indicating buzzers, sounding the deathknell, so to speak.

I am wondering if ANYONE ever found out why... is this a case of bad Capacitors, like a number or name brand equipment in the past? I know as an owner of Canon Hi8 videocameras, this problem is virtually ignored by the repair industry citing cost factors involved...which is understandable....but letting this flow of poor product continue w/o a recall is just wrong in my book... It's a blight on a company that should have the resources to correct a flub like this.

If this is not a case of electrolytic caps, then I stand corrected, but if you ALSO note the current auctions for good T2482 mobos on eBay, you might find yourself shocked, as I was. I got my aBit board alot cheaper, in fact, I got two off eBay, not knowing which one I would wind up with...and not for equal amounts, which is amusing. The PC2100 memory is seemingly rare, so I jumped up to 2700 for the VA-10 mobo, and the A-socket AMD chips and boards are on the backside of useful technology but halfway between where I was for a number of years, and where I am with my last full-cost PC
