My computer was infected with a virus called "Advanced Virus Remover": I was able to get rid of it but I'm still having issues.
For one thing, the options for the desktop wallpaper are disabled. Also, it seems like my whole system is still slow and after running a few malicious software removal applications and finding several threats, my computer is still not "clean".
I've regained access to registry key and task manager and web search results are now working properly but it seems like there is still something going on.
I've followed some advice that was given in this post http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread36931.html# (which seemed a similar situation to mine) but with not much luck.
I've also tried to follow the suggested steps to be completed before posting a request for help (as described here: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread134865.html) and am providing my Eset and HickThis logs, which show that there are about 10 possible viruses.
I should be able to provide also the log from Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, if necessary.
Could anyone please help me?
Thank you!!
Marco
