In about 90% of starting Windows XP, my profile will open with the Quick Links toolbar missing on the start menu. I've seen several similar threads on this board, but most of them had to do with a corrupt or missing Quick Links system folder. In my case, the folder is fine and all of the icons remain, I just have to go back and reselect it from the toolbars menu. This isn't very difficult, but any custom organization that I have done on the folder is undone and the icons are sorted alphabetically again (I have a few often-used icons right up top, though the rest are still alphabetical). The quick links toolbar is the only one I use religiously, but when I have any other toolbars up, like iTunes or Media Player, they will also go missing. In almost all of the instances of this, my desktop background will also go missing and I'll get a message asking me to restore my active desktop.
Any clues on what causes this? It's quite annoying!
