Hi ppls,
Having recently upgraded 2 of our workstations from Win2k to WinXP we have noticed a rather anoying trait of the WinXP Explorer: The nav tree of folders (Explorer panel displaying folders) flickers/refreshes very frequently with disk activity.
The flickering appears to be associated with each file save, copy or delete in any folder on a shared network drive (the server is Win2K)
This does not happen with the remaining Win2K workstations and when viewing file activity with filemon.exe it looks like its SVCHOST.EXE:708 (-k netsvcs) which is accessing each of the mapped drives which causes a screen refresh/repaint.
Anyone know how to stop this from happening?
Thanks.
