Hi everybody,

I'm not sure how I found your web, but I'm glad I did. I was googling "100% CPU usage" and found your site listed first, so here I am.

Anyway, I'm running windows xp home and various Microsoft programs on a Gateway laptop and recently and suddenly it slowed down whenever I try to attach a file (normally a Word file) to an email in Outlook 2000. MS Downloads says I am completely up-to-date with service packs and all security updates. I constantly run Macafee on-line virus protection and Ad-Aware spyware (uptodate). Yesterday I downloaded M/S's new WebDefender beta spyware tool and did a full scan on the computer and found no problems. Then today I noticed that taskmanager says my CPU is at 100%, and it's not changing. One other thing, my computer often runs really hot, even with an additional fan platform running under it non-stop.

Does any of this make sense to you?????

Thanks so much, and have a great day.

Warren
