I have a webserver in a data center that has to connect to my sql server here in my office. Right now I am using Windows dial up vpn which works fine performance wise. The problem is if i log off my web server the VPN disconnects is there an easier way of doing this. I don't want to open up port 1433 to the world on my sql box and don't want to install hardware at the noc. Does sql manager off a vpn type connection?
