Hi -

Problem Statement:

I am working on my PC and laptop to get connected together through the Ethernet LAN cable (direct PC to PC connection). I was able to connect Windows XP from my PC into my laptop Windows Vista. In other words, I can see each other on the network.
However, recently, I installed SUSE 10.1 Linux on my PC on top of Windows XP giving dual boot options. I configured SUSE networking. I changed the static IP to something like 192.168.2.2, default gateway, router IP, DNS,etc. Then, I tried to ping 192.168.2.2 and it says, Network unreacheable. I also ping the IP from my laptop but it could not be reached.

I am wondering if Networking using dual OS is possible?
Since they use only one Ethernet card, will it complicate the IP assigned to only one NIC or something else?

Is there a way for me to configure my SUSE Linux to connect to LAN in such away that I can access it from another computer?

Guys, if you have an idea or have experienced it before, please share the info. :-)

thanks a lot and more power,
Allan
