Hello all,

I'm having a problem with my Netgear WGR614 (v.6) router and Netgear WG311 v3 (g) PCI adapter. I recently upgraded the PCI card to wireless G from B (both Netgear) and have been experiencing the following problem more frequently now that I've upgraded to G.

The problem is that the connection sometimes just drops out for no apparent reason and the "repair" function doesn't work. Even d/cing completely and reconnecting rarely works. At best you get a message saying "Limited or no connection: there are problems with your network connection". To reconnect to the Internet I need to reboot my PC every time that happens. When I was using the 802.11b card that was once a week, now since the upgrade this happens every day, sometimes twice.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and the problem is the same whether I'm using Netgear's "SMART WIZARD" to manage the connection or Windows (blue computer icon). I have WPA and MAC filtering on but with them disabled the problem still exists. Another point of interest is the Nintendo Wii and DS seem to connect fine even when the PC will drop out all day (I do get those days).

Any help/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to pin down what could be the problem.

Thanks,

Crisko :)
