there are plenty of drupal competitors which are equally as good if not better.

drupal has it's own specific use. just as wordpress does, just as joomla does. I wouldn't and wont say any specific one is better than the other, I think they serve different needs in different ways, which is where they excel and perform the best.

it's a bad idea to try to persuade someone a specific way just to earn their business, such as you are doing.

also, what are your "many reasons" to why you think it's better?

I would try taking a look at flock.com

their browser is much more social media focused and may have a plugin for that kind of thing that you are looking for.

I would completely ignore the email. It's likely an automated email just trying to get links to their site.

I personally automatically delete those emails, it's just spam.

BUT, if you're seriously looking for a link exchange, take a look at Google for a ton of freely available scripts.

it's generally the same stuff, there aren't any major differences, at least syntax wise, that I can see.
