So, is it good to work for 30-40 years for a company and give your valuable input to that company so that it can earn from you for 30-40 years ?. I am not against this thing because we don't have any other option. I am just trying to discuss this thing. My point is that : if we can do so much hard work, we can give so much input to any company, then why can't we give that input and potential to our own business ?

yes, but Not only these 3, i need to keep track of many of them at one place. checking microsoft and 10 companies' official web-pages is not an easy task. I know and I will first get some experience first. Is it a crime to keep track of them or know some sources before-hand for keeping track ? It is not a crime in India atleast. I am Indian and I have degree of a very highly reputated college in India. I hope you have heard of IIT's which are damn famous all over the world. I am not from there , but still am from a college which ranked 8th in all over India in terms of placements, campus, teaching , infrastructure etc. yes! i agree there is alot of cheating in various universities, but all companies here know the status of those universites and students from there hardly get any job in India atleast. Trust me, engineers from these top colleges are really really really great and there is no match with them as compared to those who cheat with degree.

Good engineers are increasing on per day basis in India but these fake degrees are making out of them. pity! because of this , students who are working hard suffer because of those cheaters. There is nothing to stop them and they will never be stopped. but even after all these things, India still have very high qualitative engineers and they share a big percentage in the ratio of engineers from all over the world. thanks.

yes, Dani you are correct. I got offer from Samsung , India. But My brother has got offer from google, India last month. and now, he is in confusion that should he drop this offer or should he go abroad for higher studies ? that is the main point for which i am asking. Actually, I have learnt C++ much till now . Atleast which i need for my work purposes. I have thought of a project-- desktop calculator. I want to have all these functionalities in it.
1. mathematical functions,
2. prime number checker(will apply primality checking algos),
3. all error handlers (zero divisions error, incorrect expression etc),
4. bit-wise operations (xor, and, or),
5. base-converter functions,
6. excellent UI(colourful like DW :D ),
7. history remeberance feature,
8. checking all entered figures feature and correcting them also,
9. 10-15 digits decimal precision,
10. SI, CI , discounts adjustment feature,
11. graph designing feature,
12. pattern matching algos between some entered numbers (say 10-20)

I know this is not a very "wow" factor project, but i and 2 more people have decided to work on that. I haven't worked on any C++ project till date. worked on MATLAB, PHP and a very small project on C/C++. now this time C++. So, what do you think is it a good project to do or should i think of something else ? if you think this is good, then can you suggest more additions to it ? any kind of help will be appreciated. thanks in advance. :-)

bro, don't worry! i know how you are feeling. you are in same boat like me. i also do topcoder, codeforces, codechef and all. i know what your problem is. i had also thought like you initially, but in one year i started thinking in terms of algorithms. even i implement algorihms in daily life. trust me, just give time to it. in metro, in train, in airplane , while walking, try to think about some problem of SPOJ etc. start thinking, take one problem and try to do it in 1 day or 2 or 3 or 4. you will not believe me but in the beginiing, i once took 11 days to solve one problem which was so easy if i look at it now. i am also going thorugh my internship and placement session , and those stupid companies take those who will give fast algos. :p take one problem, think on it for hours , hours and days. belive me when u will do that problem, you will say "woopieee!!" then you will enter in a cycle. DO PROBLEMS--> INCREASE CONFIDENCE--> DO MORE PROBLEMS--> INCREASE MORE CONFIDENCE... so this will never end. just try my method once and after some time, you will be ere who will say "yes! now i can solve and can see paterns" :) trust me, this is my practical experience and i have gone thorugh same wording which you have written above. thanks.

okay! i am using windows 7 ultimate 32 bit OS and MS office 2007 , i am using.

when i click my any microsoft office's product then it start geetting installing. it is installed from 4-5 years and was wroking fine. it happened 10 days before. now i cant open my word, excel or any other file. when i try to unsitall it , it says "this product intallation is corrupted, try to install with the CD or DVD". this is when i try to uninstall it. when i install it, it says "you have error while installing it. ". i am strucked. i cant unistall, i cant install it again and i cant use it. what to do ? for the time being, tell me some temporray source where i can edit my word files and do my work properly. thanks.

@sepp2k you have made it so simple. i got it. i am explaining, tell me i am right or wrong. at first fork(), one process--> this make it 2 processes. now next statement is food for 2 processes now. now that 2 will be divided into 4. so like this last statement will be executed by 8 process which will make them 16 processes. so that if-else statements will be executed 16 times. out of which 8 are parent and 8 are children. so 8 are non-zero, 8 are zeros. so 8 times solaris will be printed.

but, if i am average technical person, then how can they know if i am good at all these things which jorge mentioned ? they will take my interview for atmost 1 hour or 1.5 hour(wprst case). for this time, anyone can pretend something fake. it is thing which we know after spending some time with that person. do u think 1 hour is sifficient ?

actually, i am quite tensed these days. all companies are going to shower next month. i am preparing since last 2 months. I was looking for the find and replace algorithm which editor softwares are using. for ex: notepad. when i search something and then when i replace it , how exactly it works. I am aware of rabin-karp and KMP algos. but i am wondering if they are most efficient ? and how do they replace it ? Seraching is okay, may be KMP can be applied, but replacing has some cases like when replaced words is of greater length and when it is of smaller length. Can you explain or give some link to it ? how will you shift whole text after that word in efficient way. thanks.
