MySQL database server is running on ubuntu. I have installed an GUI for everybody in office to access the database called Navicat. It uses ssh to access the database. It was working on almost everybody's machine week back. Now its not working on few machines and I am not sure about the reason for this.
-I checked the connections details
-The ipconfig /all shows the same dns server and gateways on computers working and not working.
-I disabled all the firewalls and aniviruses on both the server and the client machine but still it is not working. I was working on that machine a week ago.
I was not able to figure out the reason. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
The second problem is that I need to give remote access. I was wanting to open up the router port for this purpose which is not opening. I am not sure if this is the right way to do it from a security standpoint. Please let know if you have any views on this as well.
