I am having a problem with a dropdownlist is an Edit gridview. I have followed all the instructions confimed many times on the web to convert the field to a template and add the the dropdownlist to the edititemstemplate box.

Whe I run it in IE8 the page shows the correct dropdown list complete with correct data but it appears in the same location whichever record I try to edit ie not in the field box which is blank. If I select an item from the dropdownlist it will successfully update the record. The problem is only where the box appears.

Any help would be appreciated
