PS/2 and USB Mice
Hardware and Software
Microsoft Windows
by cyclone3211
Currently have 2
mice
installed and working at the same time. It appears that they are using the same driver. Some times after re-boot, the PS/2 mouse does not work until the next re-boot. Does this setup of having 2
mice
operating at the same time create any computer operating issues? OS WinXP Media SP2

In

, dpi (dots per inch) indicates how sensitive the mouse is to movement. The higher the dpi, the higher the sensitivity.

Do a system update. That mostly should fix it if your system is not updated already. also microsoft is trying to use them with generic drivers. try to find actual drivers for your

Use two mice simultaneously?

Is there a way to use two
mice
simultaneously so my left hand can do a task while my right does another task? With all the technological advancements humanity has made over the years & decades, I’m surprised this hasn’t become another way for one to operate their computer.

Background: WinXP SP2, totally current patches, current mouse drivers. Self-constructed generi-box with no previous problems. My old Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical USB mouse started messing up when I moved it around the screen quickly (it would click and drag stuff without me doing anything but move the mouse in circles). It was USB, but I had…

Other troubleshooting I've done: removed USB entries from Device Manager and rebooted (no help). Searched Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM) for USB entries and removed them, rebooted (no help). I can see the faintest glimmer of the pale blue Windows load screen before the BSOD hits (and man I wish it stayed up long enough to copy it), so I …

More data. I was able to stop the autoreboot and captured the BSOD. It claims that my BIOS is not ACPI compliant (which it was before all this started) and generated a STOP. I tried disabling ACPI in the BIOS and the system just hangs, no matter what (USB mouse plugged or unplugged). I re-enabled it and the behavior repeats as above. Now I…

I was avoiding that...on the ASUS A8N32-SLI mobo, the jumper is underneath the south video card. However, after some abrasions, I did clear the CMOS, and that worked. Now I feel stupid, but thank you!

first all optical pointing devices have low power Laser units in them.they have an effective range of approximately 1/8th inch just enough to reach your mouse pad. By radiation I assume you are referring to the amount produced by Laser excitation, this is so low that it would not register on a radiation detector that is calibrated to exclude normal …

Interesting concept. While technically very possible, it probably hasn't made it to market for the simple reason that a large portion of the computer users out there can barely operate a computer with one mouse.
