It will soon be time for me to choose where to go to post secondary. I am wondering what schools people suggest preferrably in Ontario, Canada. I plan to go for Software/Video Game development/programming (because of my lack of artistic ability), Web Development, and Mobile development. I will accept any suggestions. Thanks for the info.

Where in Ontario? I am in Kitchener-Waterloo and went to triOS for web design and development. There are career colleges such as triOS, Everest, and Westervelt, or there are community colleges like Fanshawe, Conestoga, etc.

It doesn't matter where the school is in Ontario. I will most likely live on Campus anyway.

The schools does not matter so much, its your willingness to learn and the passion for programming

You have a point there, but so far my grade 11 programming teacher didn't teach us many useful things. No vectors, or threads, or timers, or writing to files, or anything like that. I would prefer to go to a school that has good teachers.

And what makes you feel that your teacher in your next school will still show you all that?

Nothing, but My teacher couldn't even tell me how to make a timer. She didn't know. Also if I go to college or University then they should, because that is a more professional level of learning.

Yes of course, there's a more professional level of learning just as there is also the probability of more dumb teacher who cant only make a timer but may not even implement 'Hello World'
The best thing you can do is to help yourself, and whatever school you find yourself, just ass knowledge to what ever you can acquire

It does not matter this is but quality of institute most important on which u learn programing.

Continue to look for the right school as you are now. I would rephrase the question though, as few places will say "Yeah, our CS program sucks."

It sounds to me like you're interested more in the craft of programming than the theoretical side of things. When you talk to people at these schools ask them how much of the coursework is project-based. Programs that have a lot of projects have people that have an interest in making things work & should be able to guide you.

Secondly, I'd recommend getting a tutor. University programs have to accommodate large groups of varying interest...even in a good program you may be under-challenged. I'm sure there's a few hundred people here at Daniweb that would be happy to take an hour or two a week to share what they've learned by helping you work through a project.

Get a list of top CS programs or top schools and work your way down the list. Waterloo and U of T come to mind.

Look at http://www.usnews.com/education/worlds-best-universities-rankings/best-universities-in-canada for starters. It doesn't rank by CS programs but they (the ones in Ontario) are the first to look at.

http://www.senecac.on.ca/fulltime/BSD.html
The Academy of design at the RCC Institute of Technology and Seneca are colleges in Canada that offer video game design, but I would check out http://www.ontariocolleges.ca/SearchResults/COMPUTERS-TELECOMMUNICATIONS-COMPUTER-GAMING/_/N-ljh9?metaTagParam=video-game-design for a list of local programs that can could help you find somewhere in Ontario offering a degree in development/ programming.

you can study from online tutorials like w3schools, stackoverflow etc..

The question should be "How to study Programming"
Relying only on one (unwiling/ignorant) teacher is the same as Googling a problem and then only read the first link.
