Recently got a case of flash_updater.exe on my pc and seems that its the facebook virus.

I can no longer user internet explorer, but can still access pcs on the network and download emails etc...

Can no longer find any traces of said virus on the PC, downloaded malwarebytes anti-malware but i couldn't update due to the internet being "blocked"...

Could use some help.

Thanx

Thanks again

Tried that winsock tool. No luck :(

But i was pretty confident that i had removed the virus by following instructions on this site on other threads... So i went ahead and did a system restore and that seems to have worked. Hopefully thats the end of it now :)

Thanx again :) Got a lot of info from various threads on this forum.

Glad you got it sorted :)

For anyone else having this issue:

Once you have cleaned the system all that needs doing is to remove the Proxy Server setting (127.0.0.1:8484) from within Internet Explorer (Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings) to the correct IP and Port (or untick the box if you don't use a Proxy Server)

I recently logged onto face book and came across a message what i thought a friend sent me it went "heyy did u know ur default image is displayyed on tabmodule.com" went on there to checkit out had trouble getting back out of the site shut down the pc and now i am having trouble loggin back into facebook keeps comming up with Connection Interrupted The document contains no data. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again. but when i go bk to the firefox home page and go onto another site its fine there is nothing wrong with the connection.
any ideas thanks, alkamis 12
