my code doesnt create any menus when i run it. can anyone give possible reasons behind this. the rc file and resource header is already there

btw i just copied this code from an ebook.its based on windows 98.

See this tutorial. I suspect your problem is in the *.rc file.

Hi. If you are using e.g. XP with microsoft VS C++ enterprise 2008 edition a direct copy of the code from Petzold's book will not work.

What you need to do is to create a standard win32 project with header and rc files and then implement the menu sample from his book.

Do you know how to do this?

If not you probably should read Petzold's book in more detail. However I can help you, but better for you if you can find out by your self ;)
