What do you suggest for my choice of a good payment processor? It's got to cover many countries, so not paypal :). It would be nice if their fees weren't too high also. What do you think? Is there such a service?

I use ikobo. It has very nice p2p fees (4%) and the speed of money transfer is less than 12 seconds. They cover 170 countries. You can do a search on google or you can directly go at www.ikobo.com. If you need more information just ask. It's free. :D

Thanks. I've heard some good things about them as well. I hope they weren't wrong. How long have you been using them, and what kind of problems, if any, have you encountered so far. How do you get paid? Do they require a bank account?

Do you want to use it as a payment processor or as a p2p money transfer service?

Do you want to use it as a payment processor or as a p2p money transfer service?

Well, first and foremost as a payment processor, but if they also provide a good service for p2p money transfer I suppose it wouldn't hurt using them. Care to share more details?

I second ikobo!

Thanks for the link netgurus, interesting info there. I may consider some of the options if I'm adding a second gateway. So far ikobo is doing the job as payment processor. As I said I am considering adding a second option; not sure when though.

ikobo has three years (or 4 , I am not sure :) ) and is mostly known for it's capabilities of transferring money from emigrants to their families at home. I thought you all should know that.

That long, huh? I only thought it was something like an year or two max. Been using it for quite a while myself and it felt like I was among the ones that were using ikobo the most... guess I was wrong. :p

DONT use ikobo. They recently lost their abilities to sale stuff online so they shut it down. Now the only thing you can do is transfer from person to person

As I understand it is just a temporary thing with their credid card company or something, or at least that what I've read about ikobo. Not sure what is true and what not... but as you've said, for p2p transfers is still the best option for me.

Yeah, that long ... They recently removed the merchant facility and returned to what (IMHO) made them number one in this industry: cheap and fast money transfer facility.

Well, the reason I first went with ikobo was precisely because of their p2p money transfer facilities. For more than an year I've received regular payments into my account and never had problems withdrawing the money with the ikard.

I'd really hate it if something went wrong with ikobo and I would have to look for another way of receiving that money.

I'd hate it too. From what I've seen on other forums, it seems they are going to continue to offer just person2person money transfer services. The truth is that many immigrants use their service to send money to their families in a reasonable timeframe. It would be sad to leave those people without any other option. (I am talking about E Europe ... to be more accurate).

Actually StormPay is having huge problems right now. They have lied about using a third-party certification service (NetIBA). NetIBA is actually owned by the same person that owns StormPay. Please follow my link to read more about this: http://www.getpaidforum.com/forums/the_facts_about_the_owners_of_stormpay_and_netiba-t425781.html

Bottom line right now though is that a lot of people are having their accounts frozen, loosing money, and having StormPay withdraw money from their bank accounts without permission.

alertpay - top processor !!!!

Alternatively you can check with chronopay as well if you are somewhere in European countries.

Yes there is it called payfire.com and it works with paypal and stormpay, you can easily swatich money to both account and many more features like paypal, and the fees are not high.

What about a payment processor for adult-oriented products? I know Paypal does not allow this type of content/goods sold using their service ... .

We're setting up a startup business here in the US, with adult-oriented tangible products ie. no pornsite material, nothing illegal, just edgy raunchy (and sometimes gross  ) greeting cards etc, and have been browsing for some time now trying to find a REPUTABLE PP for us ... really all we need is the ability to accept Visa and MC on our site. Sales initially would be VERY small.

Kind of leaning toward a 3rd party processor for now (no gateway fees, monthly fees etc) until after we're well established (we hope), and THEN we can look at the merchant acct/monthly fees/gateway fees options after we actually HAVE an income coming in. Until that point in time, I think we'd prefer a processor that only gets their cut --- yes, I know, a LARGE cut ---- when a sale goes through.

Any names that you can throw out to me to look into further please?

Cheers to all,
Mike in Yuma, AZ

What you are saying is true
