I think I found and got rid of most of it. Anyways, everytime I reboot and use the Internet, I get an empty pop up (restricted site). I think it's only the first time when I open the Internet Explorer window and then never appears again. Anyways, it's quite annoying and it's time to rid of it. I'm new to HijackThis, so I have no idea what I'm doing. I did fiddle around and leave my comments in, I hope no one minds. I used the FAQS linked, it was easy and clear to follow, but I'm just not sure of what to do. Anyways, please tell me what to fix. Thanks so much.

I would just fix this one with hijackthis.

Ok, I tried fixing it through HijackThis, but after I rebooted, the same thing still happens. Probably the first Internet Explorer window I open or at least shortly after, the pop- up still appears. I know this has to be spam because my homepage is Google.

I just turned off System Restore, and tried to fix it again. I then rebooted and ran HijackThis, and the file is still there. What do I do now? Maybe it's related to Google Toolbar? Thanks for the help and time.

Download the Pocket KillBox
Unzip the file to your desktop.
Open TheKillbox.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipsmsnai.dll

When asked to reboot, do so.

Once rebooted fix that line with hijackthis. Reboot again and see if it returns.

I did the Pocket KillBox follow- up and so far so good, the line is gone from HijackThis. Thanks so much for the help, crunchie.

You're welcome :D. Post back if it returns.
