Within the past week or so a few programs have been crashing at various points.

For example, Steam was crashing on startup but has fixed itself somehow. MSN Messenger crashes with the "Send Error Report" thing after about 5 seconds whenever I sign in. Firefox and IE both crash with the Error Report thing sometimes when using google.

I currently have Sygate Personal Firewall installed as well as AVG free and Malwarebytes Anti Malware and Spybot Search and Destroy. I have run scans with all of these in safemode but they've all turned up dry.

However, one thing I've noticed is that whenever I use a program or install something, a pop up comes up from Sygate asking me to allow the .exe file to connect to fxrvop.cn [212.212.212.212] using remote port 80 [HTTP - World Wide Web]. This happened just 5 mins ago when I installed Hijack This.

Here is the Hijack This log.

Well you obviously have a hijacker on the computer for sure and likely other items. Obviously when Sygate alerts you to this access request be sure to block it.
Please TURN OFF ALL unnecessary programs for now until we get this thing or things off of there.
PunkBuster
Steam
Quicktime
iPod
Windows Media Player
Spybot - Search & Destroy
Acrobat Reader
Windows Live Messenger
Are the ones I see, any others you can think of do the same.

Please do the following:
Please Download ATF-Cleaner.exe by Atribune(Windows XP, 2K, 2003 & Vista ONLY)

• You can put ATF-Cleaner on your Desktop for easy access.
RUN ATF-Cleaner.exe.

-- Click on ATF-Cleaner to run it
-- Where it says Select Files To Delete, Check the Select All Option
-- Click Empty Selected > OK

If you use Firefox browser, do this also:

* Click Firefox at the top and choose Select All from the list.
* Click the Empty Selected button.
* NOTE : If you would like to keep your saved passwords, click No at the prompt.

Update your MBA-M program.

* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt.

Reboot the computer.

Run a new HJT scan and save the log. Post back here with both the MBA-M log and the new HJT log.

Just used that program to clean everything but it still comes up with the Sygate thing whenever I open a program.

Also, Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware can't update. Whenever I search for updates using the program, it crashes with the "Send Error Report" message.

If you can't update MBA-M then run it without the update. Full scan.

Just done that and I've come back to find that its closed itself with no notepad log file or any trace that its run.

I'm guessing it had an "Error" or something, probably when it found said virus and the virus shut it down.

Is there anything I can do except for formatting the computer, which is a step I would rather not take.

Try running MBA-M in safe mode

Ran it in safe mode and found 2 infections which were fixed, however the problem itself is still not fixed.

Here is the MBA-M Log:

I asked you to

Please TURN OFF ALL unnecessary programs for now until we get this thing or things off of there.
PunkBuster
Steam
Quicktime
iPod
Windows Media Player
Spybot - Search & Destroy
Acrobat Reader
Windows Live Messenger

You obviously have not done this because they all are still running.

What is the full error given concerning the turn off of these various programs? Go to the Event Viewer and pick one of the most recent errors and give us the full report

Try turning off Sygate entirely and see if it keeps generating these messages. Did you purchase the program? If so do you have the install disk or install file?

Ah sorry, I restarted my computer and I forgot to end some of those processes. They were all disabled for the MBA-M log since I was in safe mode. Heres another HijackThis log with them turned off.

As a note, Sygate is a free firewall program which displays the ip adress and ports used when asked if it should block or allow a program to use the internet. However, if you block it from using one ip address it blocks everything.

I can download the install file yes and no I didn't purchase anything used by the program because its free.

Turning off Sygate changes nothing, still get the error messages and it just leaves my computer without a firewall. (Except for the windows one but we all know how rubbish that is...)

Check another faulting program error and see what caused it to fail also.

This is for MSN Messenger which I just tested a few mins ago.

Really looks to me like you probably have some corrupt system files with all these programs having errors. You would do well to run a Disk Check and have it repair. You will need your system disk probably.

Ok, I might as well format the system as I was going to do that sometime soon anyway.

Thanks for all the help, I think we'll make this as "Solved".

Probably a good idea. Just be sure you have all your disks

I just worked for 3 Hours on this same issue. It turned out that the line in HiJackThis: "O20 - AppInit_DLLs: ms32clod.dll" was the culprit. Malware-Bytes would not update or finish cleaning. Internet explorer would crash, & Windows Update would crash. Always referencing msvcrt.dll as the problem. As soon as I removed that Line using hijackthis & restarted everything was back to normal again. Hope this helps someone else who is having this issue.

We KNEW this was part of the infection, that was not the sole problem with the poster's machine, he had very corrupted files.
Also jedwar10 please bear this in mind:
When you fix these types of entries, HijackThis does not delete the offending file listed it only removes the listing from the scan. It is recommended that you reboot into safe mode and delete the offending file.
