Hello everyone, I have just joined this forum site today after searching on Google for what to do about the above popup taking over IE.
I am not quite sure how to use a forum site but I wanted to say thank-you for the advice given by Crunchi which seems to have done the trick and was very easy to follow. I have picked up a lot of tips from reading a few posts!

I was going to post the details of HijackThis in case anyone can check I have done it right!! But although I can run it I am not sure how to copy the details across here. Any advice much appreciated.

Run hijackthis

click do a system scan and save logfile

It'll give you an option of where to save the log file .... save it onto your desktop ....

the log file will open after you click save ...

click edit -- > select all and then copy ........ and paste the log here in the forums...

Thanks! Peeps on Daniweb do talk clear english! Instructions even I can follow.
Well here you are although my IE is still up and running with no trouble.

Kasaj,

Hi! and welcome to the Daniweb forums.

===============

Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done 'cleaning' off your system, we're going to 'flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later.

Also move the "Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

R3 - URLSearchHook: transURL Class - {C7EDAB2E-D7F9-11D8-BA48-C79B0C409D70} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SEARCH~1.DLL

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/2325b7a...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Reboot.

===============

To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:

Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:

1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
2) Next, "Enable all protection".
3) Exit the program.

-

Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.

===============

After rebooting your PC post back a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

-

crunchie.

I'd just like to add that you should go to Windows Update to get the Critical Updates for your system. :)
