My browser is being hijacked to prosearching.com. I haven't installed anything on my computer in the last week other then hijack this tonight and this problem just started today. I am running windows 98 on a gateway computer. Norton Antivirus and Trojan Remover have found nothing . I have posted the log file from hijack this as well. Any assistance would be appreciated. I know that there is probably lots of stuff running that I don't need. I just don't know what to do. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Sherry

Download CWShredder from http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe & run it. Select the fix button & it will get rid of everything related to CoolWebSearch. Close ALL other programs including IE before running CWShredder. Reboot after doing this & post another log please.

Thanks for your help.
CWShredder found C:\WINDOWS\asx3test.exe do you know anything about the file?

Sherry

Crunchie here is the log after I rebooted. I did not delete asx3test.exe. Also note that CWShreder directed me to the Microsoft website to download a patch, which I did as well.

Thanks agian,
Sherry

With that file asx3test.exe, go to this site & upload it for a virus test. I don't know what it is personally, but will endeavor to find out. Generally, if you cannot find it in any start up lists or on google, you can be rid of it. See what the online scan says first.
