They come from the "Desktop Messenger" component, which is mainly used to check for updates. It is completely useless and it's not entirely clear if these entries are nasty/spying on something. CastleCops lists them as "O" (Open for debate). At least it's "bad behavior" to use the registry as garbage dump. Get rid of them by disabling the autostarting Desktop Messenger in MSConfig.
