Okay so recently my internet speeds have shot way down. I use a wireless router and the pages used to load in an instant. Now it takes forever to load sites and videos etc. Also, at random times my wireless setup will not be able to connect and will disconnect when it wants and then it will say that there is limited or no connectivity. It's getting so annoying. Please help. Here is the hijack this log. Thanks in advance.

Download
SDFix
and save it to your desktop.

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the
following :

  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the
    Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
  • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract
    All
    ,
  • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to
    start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the script.
  • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the
    registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool
    will be running and removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and
    display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load
    your desktop icons.
  • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the
    contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with
    a new HijackThis log

Thanks for the response. I did exactly that and here are the logs from both.

Can you please do the following.

===============

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.

  • Open Windows Defender
  • Click Tools
  • Click General Settings
  • Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
  • Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
  • After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
  • Close Windows Defender

===============

Download the newest version of HiJackThis; version 2.0.2. Place it in a permanent folder before scanning. Repost your log after following the steps below. This version has features that might be more helpful in 'cleaning' up your system.

===============

Scan with HijackThis and then place a check next to all the following, if present:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...ion&pf=desktop

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [System Support] system32.exe

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure you are able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

Search for...

ALCXMNTR.EXE
system32.exe

...using "Start | Search...".

-

Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in Safe Mode by doing the following:

  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.

Select the first option to run Windows in Safe Mode hit enter.

-

Reboot.

===============

After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Please let me know how your pc is now.

I did everything you asked. My internet speeds are still terrible. Here is the hijackthis log and also an internet speed test from speedtest.net

Has the speed improved at all? If not, are there any programs downloading updates such as M$ auto updates? Sometimes these can cause problems such as yours.

The internet speeds are still terrible. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless card drivers etc might help? I know this might sound stupid but having a fish tank right near the computer would this have an effect. I'm using a fluval 205 external filter system? But I still have a 11mb connection it says. The limited connectivity comes on every ounce in a while and I'm not able to access the internet at times.

Here's the scan results of that file.

I have never heard of a fish tank affecting an internet connection, but I suppose that if a fish jumped out and got stuck in the line...............:D
Has the tank been there the whole time your connection has been slow?

Download LSPfix from here
On the opening screen, click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox then click Finish.

==

Go here and download then run Silent Runners.vbs. Right click on the download link and select Save Target As. Save it to the desktop or to a folder in a permanent directory. It generates a log which will be created in the same folder you are running it from. Please post the information back in this thread.
If you have a script blocking program, please allow the file to run. It is not malicious.

-lol about the fish tank. i was wondering because of the filter pump. It's a electro magnetically driven motor I believe. i just didn't know if it would cause any funk with the wireless internet.
I did the LSPfix thing and it didn't do anything i think. Then i used the other script program and here are the results:

did u ever try to reboot all your devices, modem, router,computer. remove the conn between the modem and router then boot in this sequence, modem. when fully booted, boot router. when fully booted conn eth cable between moddem and router. then boot pc.

yeah that's the first thing i did. i think i might try the drivers etc. when i get some time. unless anyone else has something in mind. this blows. it used to be fast as shit. i can't even download small things without the most incredible lag. i use my ppc to download files then transfer them.

do you guys think reinstalling the drivers etc. for both the card and the wireless router would help? i dont want to do it yet and risk it not working without approval. ive tried everything else.

Can you hook up another pc to check if the problem is pc or line related?

well here's something i forgot to mention. when i do a search for other available wifi networks there's a linksys system that has 5 bars that i connected to . The internet connectivity thing also had happened etc. So I guess it has to be my card or the pc. Although I haven't had the limited connectivity thing for a while now since troubleshooting my internet speeds are still prehistoric. im gonna try and reinstall the wireless card drivers.

i think it was my wireless card. i reinstalled the card and the drivers and now my internet speeds are back to somewhat normal. im getting about 6mb download speed now. Thanks for all the help. God don't you just hate when it's something so simples and that's the last thing you do? lol. Thanks again guys.

Good news is that you got your pc cleaned up too :D

thanks again man. if you're ever in New York I owe you a 12 pack lol.
