Hello,
I just stumbled across your forum looking for an answer to my question. I found a similar one, but the instructions were very specific.

I just got a new job and the computer they have me using is complete crap. The guy before me really got it messed up. Now every time I'm on Mozilla, about every 3-5 minutes (sometimes more) a new tab will open up followed shortly by a IE window opening up. I have McAfee secuirty suite, which sometimes blocks the site which is trying to open up but it has done nothing to stop the actual window from opening. I was hoping that someone here may know what to do.

I downloaded HijackThis, because that was what the person with a similar question was told to do. I will post the results of my scan in my next post in case this will help speed things up a bit. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
It looks like you need to remove a virus or malware. Go to:-
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
or:-
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp
Download and run to remove any viruses you may have. (Sometimes a virus will stop you accessing an anti-virus site, so try going through safe mode (Tap F8 on boot up) and see if you can access it there.)
Then go to :-
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
or;-
http://majorgeeks.com
Download, then run a “quick check” your PC for any problems, if still there do a “full scan.”
You also have a lot of rubbish (I think it is) on your PC download and run CCleaner as well. Before you run CCleaner do a registry back up and create a restore point. (Search the web if you don't know how.)
