I have Windows XP instaled on my laptop. Recently, the moment I log on, I get the blue screen and my computer restarts. The only way I can start my computer is if I start windows in safe mode- even safe mode with networking does not work. I have also tried torestore my system to a month ago when it was working but I continue to get the blue scree. I finally figured out how to capture the codes that come up in the blue screen and I hope this will help you decipher the problem.

The error message I get on the bloue screen is:

IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Technical Information:

STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFF1511F2, 0x00000002,0x00000000,0x804D9B64)

Help Please

How much RAM do you have, what is your gfx card, and how old is your machine?

Thanks for your response. After hitting this till 3 in the morning, I was able to fix this. I remonved my extra ram to see if there was a conflict but that did not work either.

Ffinally I painfully disabled all my network drivers and enabled them one by one to figure out the one that had the issue. Isolated it to the intel pro 2200/bg wireless driver, downloaded an udated driver from intel on my other computer, reinstalled on this machine and no more BSOD (at least for now)

Update your bios first, then download new drivers... that would solve your problem

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 891ef9d2, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: 891edc44, Trap Frame
Arg4: 00000000

Can someone please inteprete this dump for me.
Thanks for your assistance in advance

Thanks for your response. After hitting this till 3 in the morning, I was able to fix this. I remonved my extra ram to see if there was a conflict but that did not work either.

Ffinally I painfully disabled all my network drivers and enabled them one by one to figure out the one that had the issue. Isolated it to the intel pro 2200/bg wireless driver, downloaded an udated driver from intel on my other computer, reinstalled on this machine and no more BSOD (at least for now)

Dear all,
Just fo the record, I happened to have to same issue a few days ago (Sep 2009) on a Toshiba Satelitte M30x, from year 2004, with Windows XP Home edition, SP3. This piece of HW/SW had been working correctly for 5 years, there was no recent HW addition nor any notable (by me) piece of software, so it was surprising. Anyway the STOP code contained the 0x804D9B64 which allowed me to find this thread, the culprit was the intel pro 2200/bg wireless card apparently since a driver update stopped the very frequent reboots.
Thank you very much!!!!
Best regards

Hi,
I have the same laptop Satellite M30X-129 and it's been working fine for the past 6 years! the STOP code is the same as the above and Windows when restarts after sending an error report shows it is th same driver problem - i cannot download the driver as it restarts again - what can I do? how to check if RAM is ok and the temperatures of CPU?

PLease help!
THNX

Google for Memtest86+ & Coretemp
Coretemp will give you a nice little [configurable] temp display for all cores in your task bar [if you so wish]; Memtest86+ will make a bootable floppy which you load after a sys restart [and boot from the floppy!] - it will comprehensively test your installed RAM.
