Simplest way to debug is take your output query and run in phpmyadmin, you will get some idea of error.

$query = "INSERT INTO *********** (time, ad1) VALUES ('$FileName','$topnow')";
mysql_query($query) or die('Error, insert query failed.<br />Run this query in phpmyadmin:'.$query);

error is in connecting to mysql, not in mysql-things work fine with phpmyadmin. Mysql error message is

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/53/7382753/html/Summer/wootsummer.php on line 72
