Attachment icon not visible when posting a question

Hi, can somebody tell me why, when posting a question rather than a thread, the attachment icon isn't there? See attachment:

I see the same; probably a bug.

I forget the reasoning for it, but ever since designing that feature 5+ years ago, attachments weren't available from the homepage. I believe it was a UI reason but I don't remember exactly. Either way, the form on the homepage is streamlined.

You can add attachments when in the full 'Start New Discussion' page.

I noticed that because sometimes I start a post directly from the home page, not sure if other people do that. So there won't be a fix for that I seem to undestand, just wondering :-)
