I would like to ask something about WiMAX.
Is WiMAX a new technology?
Can anyone tell me more infor about WiMAX such as its pros, cons, features?
What is the different btw WiMAX and Wi-Fi? :rolleyes:

WiMAX is like Wi-Fi on Steroids and and wearing armour plating. It is Secure as the pentagon as it using AES encryption and has a radius of 10Km at its highest modulation scheme.

It is mostly used for fixed wireless access at present but the standard does support Nomadic and Mobile use but the equipment is still a little expensive the the networks tend to be based in city centres rather than rural areas as a lot of peaple think.
