We are on the same page here, used it for quite some time, not recently though, so thank you for "reminding" me again.
I found this to be the best tool to use, maybe something newer were launched but I have not seen it - stick to what I know pops to mind!

I recently used it to tweak the maximum crawl depth from 6 to 5 and it seems to have made a huge improvement, even before this latest core algorithm update that started this week.
