Everyone has probably seen the video of the Phillie fan dad who caught his first foul ball and then gave it to his toddler daughter who then threw the ball back on the field followed by a really heartwarming image of the dad and daughter hugging as the crowd goes nuts. MLB could have used this video for an ad campaign that could have taken advantage of the obvious viral appeal of the video but instead they issued copyright claims on all but their copy. Was this a smart move or the mother of call social media screw-ups?
Personally, I think MLB committed a major error here. (Sorry, couldn't help myself with that one!)
