Hey Everyone!
I need some help! My LaCie 500GB external USB hard drive is having troubles- my sister-in-laws baby knocked it over and I have valuable information on it! It worked afterwards a couple of times then it had some kind of error on it- I can't recall the actual error but it hasn't worked since.. I feel terrible because it is my second hard drive I have gone through and this one has some stuff I really don't want to lose. From what I remember the error had a "$" sign at the beginning and I think the second letter was an 'm' so if anyone can think of what the '$m..' stood for we might get somewhere.. I actually looked it up on the internet immediately after I found that error and it ahd to do with the central processing of the external hard drive..? I think thats what it was.. but my question would be, if we have a way to access the information on the hard drive, because it WAS working.. then it just quit on me, I wasn't even using it when the error message popped up on my computer. So my guess is that the '$m..' whatever it is messed up and no longer allows the computer to do the regular 'plug and play' business and might not be able to direct the computer to the right information on tha hard drive- but I'm fairly certain the information still exists... soo.... any ideas??
