Last wednesday my computer BSOD'd when i was away. the error message was of the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL type, but i can't recreate it and did not record the stop error. I decided to just reinstall windows. I did not attempt to go into safe mode, but was able to briefly reboot into windows and back-up some data.
Now, i have tried to reinstall windows, and get a different blue screen with a long list of instructions to unveil the offending driver (it has run off the screen):
*** STOP: 0x000000C5 (0x01A00080,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x80538F3B)
after turning off the computer and letting it run again, i get an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error after it attempts to resume setup:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000,0x0000001C,0x00000001,0x804F62E0)
again after restarting i get another different blue screen with no specific error message, the next time the computer freezes at the first BIOS screen (with the image and the notification to hit DEL to enter setup), now (after another restart) it has gotten back into the setup, gone to the part where you input your name, the time, etc., only to blue screen again with an IRQL error:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000004,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x80515F3A)
i have gotten the setup process to complete successfully before, only to have the computer fail into a blue screen any. these are the kinds of problems i've been having, and i've tried to reinstall windows maybe nine times, also using a different hard -drive (although one which i am also uncertain about).
