I have a minimac and recently added my grandchildren as users. I used the parental control options when setting their own log ins but need to make some changes. This is where all my dramas began. I have tried every which way to gain access to their account but am blocked out. I even set up a root administrator account and still cannot gain access. Hopefully there is someone out there who has done the same thing and found a way around it. If so please help me. Thankyou.

Is "minimac" the same as "Mac Mini"?

I'm not too familiar with Macs, but it seems like the root user should be able to change the password on any account and access any account in any way. However, like I said, I'm not too familiar. This is the C++ forum. Perhaps you may want to post this in the Mac OS X forum?

thanks vernon and yes mini mac is mac mini lol. i have accidentally worked out how to overcome my problem. what i needed to do was log them out first before i can do the changes. my computer froze up on me and to to restart. this then logged out all users and so was able to make my changes. funny how when you try everything you can think of the it ends up being something so simple. thanks again vernon for trying to help me
