Hi - my dell user manual (for inspiron 9400) says that it supports DDR-II RAM up to 667 MHz, but the recommended upgrade on the Dell website is for 800 MHz RAM. Is installing the "too-fast" RAM going to be a problem?
Thanks for any help,
Dave

Here are a couple links to memory finders:
http://www.upgradememory.com/configurator_1.cfm
http://www.memorysuppliers.com/memoryfinder.html
I hope this helps
I don't *think* it will be a problem (i.e. I think it will still work), but it'd be somewhat of a waste of cash since it'll only run at 667 MHz.
to be safe i would get 667 MHz RAM if that is what your computers manual says. Conflicting/unsupported RAM might stop your computer from booting all together
