i need help. trying to repair gateway ma3 laptop works fine but after boot in windows xp it will freeze the screen and beep continually until i power it off with power switch. i have tried switching ram and processor. i believe it to be the motherboard but want to know if their is anything i can do to repair without replacing motherboard. or could it be that the os need to be reinstalled?

try it and see if it help, reinstall is only way to know for sure
