I have an ACER 1640, when powering up the fans tsarts for a few seconds then stops, i have taken the memory cards out and refitted , tried holding the power key on for 30 secs etc with no power attahed and then restarting, tried everything
The power lightstays on after the fan stops
Can someone help please?

This sounds a bit like ther is a flat battery and it may not be charging. Does the same happen if you have it on mains?
Is it possible that your CPU is overheating and immdiately shutting down...vents blocked or even too much dust in heat sink etc?
