I've seen a few of these threads regarding dvd drives and the pin soldering technique. I have a new 'cable select' hard drive (used to be my secondary) that I need to use to replace a dead drive in my Toshiba laptop (Satellite 5205-S705). It seems that this type of drive will not work in this brand of laptops. My question is can this 'mod' technique be applied to my HDD? If so - can anyone post a picture of the pins on the end of the drive itself and indicate which are the correct pins to be joined? As of now I have made many unsuccessful attempts at re-formatting and Installing only to be met with ''IDE ERROR #0" and many blue screens of death.

Thanks - JD
