I have an IDE drive (200 GB) connected to my motherboard, set to master, with an SATA drive (320 GB) as well. I am trying to install Windows XP on the IDE drive so that can be my primary drive and my secondary drive (SATA) can be used to store video. Whenever I try to load XP from the CD on boot, I get the blue screen of death and a STOP error (0x0000007B). I have checked the drive with the Drive Fitness test that comes with the harddrive (it is a Hitachi Deskstar) and everything checked out fine. Why can't I install XP on my IDE drive?!??! Help please! (in my BIOS i have set the raid to ATA)

hi, kveld3! welcome to daniweb!
i think that the problem is not in your ATA hd, it's more common to memory. how much ram do you have, and mow many slots occupied?
