Of all the gadgets you've bought, which one was the most waste of money?

For me, I was one of the lucky few who was invited to purchase a Google Glass. It was an amazing experience for me (before my move to silicon valley), going to the NYC google offices to pick it up in person above Chelsea Market. Did I use it after that day? Maybe twice.

I remember about 2 weeks after I purchased it I was wearing it around Manhattan on a very cold day. It had to have been below freezing outside. It's never held a charge since.

When I got my first hearing aids I paid extra for the Bluetooth pendant and a Bluetooth clip-on microphone so that when my wife and I were shopping she could wear the mic and talk to me from anywhere in the store. It was complete crap.

Since then the "toys" I've bought have been worth the money. My Chromecast dongles (both of them) worked very well. The new TV has casting hardware built in so I no longer need the dongles. I have them plugged into other TVs which we almost never use. But until we got the new 65" LG the Chromecast worked wonderfully.

My wife and I do not buy one-use gadgets and we never buy the LaG (latest and greatest). For example. We never bought an air fryer. We know a few people who got one, used it for a few months, then shoved it to the back of a cupboard.

I am all about buying the latest and greatest and being an early adopter. I wouldn't call an air fryer a fun shiny gadget, though. My mom keeps trying to shove one on us but we still haven't got one. I don't see the need between our big oven, speed oven (microwave and convection bake/broil combo), and steam oven.

I suppose that based on what I've written in a separate thread I'd have to include my current ASUS laptop. Total waste of money.
