Help! I just reformatted with XP Pro SP2. I have an e-machine T2200. AMD 2200+ with a gig of ram and a Radeon 9200 LE video card. My prob is this when I reformatted I lost audio. Now I have audio when I play a cd or use Windows Media Player. But no sound otherwise. I tried to update the driver and got c-media. I downloaded the driver from the motherboard co. ECS. I tried the driver from VIA. But to no avail. Could someone please help me b4 I pull out what is left of my hair! Thanx unezrider64

Even though you may have a VIA based motherboard in that emachine it may not be using a VIA audio controller. Go into the device manager and look in the audio properties to see what CMI (c-media) controller your board uses. You may need to download a CMI AC97 driver directly from c-media. EG CMI 9738 controller or whatever you have -
