hi i will come straight to the problem bothering me?
i recently bought a new processor intel 3.0ghz with ht and 800mhz bus speed and i am trying to run it on intel d865gbf mother board with 256mb of ram and nvidia fx 5200 vga card. now there are two problems that i am having
first is that the processor logo at bootup changes occasionally from intel ht to simple intel p4 or some times to celeron d and when this happens the bios and windows xp(sys info) show the same features of the corresponding processor.
secondly the system hangs occasionally without warning at any non specific time and when i restart the monitor displays nothing but when i turn off the system and try a bit later the system starts again. the system also restarts on its own accord again at no specific time.the problems of restarting and hanging were there even before i bought the new processor.
i have changed my ram, removed the modem but to no effect.
