How could i make my usb thumb drive bootable:
Lexar media secure jump drive 512MB
with an NTFS file sys.?

what for do you want to make USB drive bootable? i mean do you want to install there windows or linux? It's possible if your MoBo supports booting from the USB, check it out at first. And i strongly recomend don't change thumbs file system to NTFS, leave it FAT.

Linux is what i had planned (damn small linux). And yea my pc supports it.
Why should i use FAT?

Why should i use FAT?

Presently, you are stuck using FAT-16 because most computers will not recognize a flash drive as being bootable if the drive is formatted with anything other than FAT-16. But if you succeed using another file system, let it be so.:)
