i currently own a Gateway 450ROG with a pentium M 1.5ghz 1mb cache

i m pretty sure it is running at 400MHZ FSB, and am really interested in upgrading the processor to something faster, say a 2000ghz Pentium M

i am just wondering will my laptop support a processor upgrade>? with 2mb L2 cache?

i assume i would have to keep the FSB at 400Mhz?

just need a lil help, as you can see im a little confused,

thanks for all your time reading my thread, any response is extremely welcome.

By the way, it has the Intel 855 chipset
:p

It is only possible on a very few motherboards, and we would need to know the brand and model of the board. Usually, you cannot do this, but on a 400 MHz, it can be possible, if it is NOT a celeron.
But you are asking for trouble, due to dificulties in cooling which are already bad in that unit. You will definitely shorten the life of the computer.
