Hi all, let me first introduce the computer itself. Its a computer which has been working fine for past 2 years, with a Geforce FX 5600XT (256 MB VRAM) graphics card installed. I have never had any display issues previous to this time (the display settings are 1024 x 768, 96 DPI, 32-bit (highest) color quality, 85 Hz screen refresh rate, all hardware acceleration enabled).
A few days back, my computer was playing songs, and hence I had turned off the monitor. In the interim, the power went off. Now, I have got a power backup, which only lasts for a couple of minutes, so that I can save any necessary work, and shut down the computer normally. So, when the power went, I switched on the monitor so that I can close any open files and shut the PC. But, presumably, the power backup couldn't take the load of the switching on of the monitor, and it couldn't give further power - so, a bad shutdown occurred.
When the power came again, and I restarted the PC, I saw the monitor having color problems - like the ones you see when some magnetic field problems are there. The problems still persist. I have tried moving the monitor, reconnecting the cables, tinkering with the graphics card and display monitor settings, but to no avail. I would greatly appreciate any help to rectify this problem.
Thanks. If any more info that I can supply is needed, I will be happy to do so.
