I have installed a 2nd hdd(D) reinstalled winxp in C drive, but xp home installation disk only recognizes diskC, disk manager recognise D(2nd hdd) as does device manager, no reference to a 2nd drive in the bios
I am computer literate, but not too much in the technical know!

Is the BIOS setting for hard drives set to auto?
I also have installed a second HD When I restarted the computer I went into auto detection. Make sure 2nd HD is slave and your using the right connector .XP did everything for me .I wish you all the luck.
