I actually just joined today so I am not sure if this has already been discussed here.

My question is: Is there really a software that can reset a Seagate hardrive back to zero? Going back to zero includes resetting the bad sectors of the drive.

My friend claims he has one and is too greedy to let me have a copy. He said that he got it from some allied techno geeks in Europe. It is so good that after resetting it, it is almost brand new.

I have three drives here that has bad sectors in them. It would be a waste if I just throw them out.

Please advise.

Thanks.

If you have only one or maybe two bad sectors you can work around these, and you can do this using you Window OS.

Go to my computer, right click on your hdd, click on properties, click on tools, click on check now, you will have an option to scan and attempt to repair sectors.
